Privacy & Data Security Center

Transparent, Restrained, Absolutely Local

We understand how important your data is to you. This policy aims to explain clearly and unreservedly how the WebClaw AI extension handles data. We follow the core principles of "least privilege" and "data never leaves the device".

Last updated: November 1, 2026

100% of Business Data Stays Local

All webpage DOM structures, the scraping logic you configure, and the business data you ultimately extract are processed entirely on your local device and stored only in your browser's IndexedDB. We will never upload your scraping results to the developer's servers.

1. The Only Basic Data We Collect

To monitor the extension's health and overall user scale, the WebClaw AI extension generates a random, pseudo-anonymous UUID for you when it first runs. Based on this UUID, we only record the following three minimal event packets:

1
Install event: When you first add the extension to your browser.
2
Uninstall event: When you remove the extension (recorded via setUninstallURL).
3
DAU heartbeat: Records the extension's active status once per day (confirming the extension was used that day).
* Note: This data absolutely does not contain your browsing history, the current URL, account passwords, or any specific scraped content.

2. Feedback Data You Voluntarily Provide

When you proactively submit bug reports, feature suggestions, or business requests to us by email or through the in-extension feedback channel, we will record the contact information you provide (such as your email address) and the content of our communication. This information is used only to follow up with you on issue progress or feature development. It will never be used for any commercial promotion, nor will it be linked to your pseudo-anonymous statistical data (UUID).

3. Purpose of Data Use

The very limited statistical data mentioned above is processed solely by the WebClaw AI core development team. Data use is strictly limited to the following two aspects:

Product stability monitoring: Analyzing peaks in uninstall events to help us quickly pinpoint severe bugs that may cause browser crashes or lag.
Basic statistical analysis: Understanding the extension's overall retention rate and daily active users (DAU) to evaluate the macro performance of product updates.

4. Your Privacy Rights & Contact

You have absolute control over your own data. Since our system links data only through a UUID and holds no identity information about you (such as email or name), if you would like us to completely erase your UUID association records from the statistical database, please contact us at any time.
